Who..?!?

Born and raised in Amsterdam in the 60s, I am a Dutch photographer living in the eastern part of the Netherlands. My interest in photography developed (literally, I once drank the stuff...) when I was a toddler watching my father working in a makeshift darkroom. In the mid-80s I went to school for documentary photography, but eventually chose a different career in aviation.

After flying to all corners of the world for 35+ years, it's finally time to take up that dream career as a photographer. I have always been fascinated by the documentary photographic essay. Across the globe I’ve had the privilege of witnessing many stories, but never had the opportunity to dive in and document it. On the other hand, at home I never had enough time or was too jet-lagged to pick up any serious work. That is why I am going to focus on stories from my home country in the coming years. Stories about things that interest me, that surprise me, that touch me and that teach me new things about my own country.

As of 2025 I am available for assignments. Be it short term or long term projects, big stories or little stories. Please, feel free to send a message with any requests, remarks or questions. Thanks!
